Review of "CLASSIC TEXTS SERIES" of Arihant publication for students preparing for IIT-JEE

For students preparing for IIT-JEE, it is very important to choose right books for the preparation. Here in this blog I'm going to review a set of books of mathematics from Arihant publication. This set of  books is know as "classic texts series" which contains 7 books namely:

1) HIGHER ALGEBRA BY HALL & KNIGHT 

2) THE ELEMENTS OF COORDINATE GEOMETRY (PART 1) BY SL LONEY 

3)PLANE TRIGONOMETRY (PART 1) BY SL LONEY 

4) PROBLEMS IN MATHEMATICS with hints and solutions by V GOVOROV, P DYBOV, N MIROSHIN, S SMIRNOVA 

5) Problems in CALCULUS OF ONE VARIABLE by IA MARON 

6) A Problem book in MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS by GN BERMAN 

7) Problem in GENERAL PHYSICS by IE IRODOV 

  I'll start with this book 

This is an amazing book on algebra. This contains 35 chapter not all very lengthy chapters. All the chapters contain what a student must know from the respective topic. Enough number of questions are given in each chapter for daily practice. This is not an introductory book on algebra so you either must have introductory knowledge on algebra or  you need to have a mentor who can guide you.

Next:

SL LONEY is very famous for his book on TRIGONOMETRY. This is one the best books you can have on this subject. This contains beautiful proofs of trigonometric identities as well as a very nice set of problems. Well, this book might  not be sufficient for JEE preparation but your preparation will be incomplete without solving problems from this book. 

Next:

This book also belongs to SL LONEY. This book has very abstract starting of coordinate geometry which you will find little bit difficult to understand if you are a high school student so you need to discuss lots of things with your teacher. Again, set of problems are really brilliant to understand more and more about coordinate geometry.

Next:

This book is not an introductory book on this topic. You must finish calculus from some introductory book or from your classroom notes then you must look up to this book. What you can do is only solve problems from this book without going into explanation of things or you can take help from your teacher to understand the explanation of various topics. Again I'll say your JEE Preparation is incomplete without solving problems from this book.

 Next:

This book doesn't explain anything too much but the level of problems given in this book is very impressive. You can use this book only for practice problems. This contains algebra, trigonometry, geometry and vector algebra and some calculus. I have taken some problems of algebraic inequations from this book on my YouTube channel so I can recommend, doing   problems from this book will be very helpful. Level of problems is really hard for high school students and there isn't deep text on anything that's why you must have a guiding star who can help you solving problems from this book.

Next:

This is one the most wonderful book you can have to solve calculus problems. This book has some chapters that belongs to college level Mathematics. So you can skip those chapters but still most of the chapters are of your use. If you are preparing for JEE exam then you must solve this book. 

      

                                           

Next:

This book belongs to physics. Your preparation for JEE exam is incomplete without solving problems from this book. This book doesn't have any text but only problems related to Physics.

You will see one of the difficult problems of high school Physics in this book.
